This is a Seiko 5 Sport SNZJ69. It’s my new casual/give no fucks watch and first automatic watch. I just made a paracord band for it (the original metal band was clunky and was rattling all over) with half decent Michael’s Paracord 550. It’s currently more comfortable than my G-Shock, which is now charging.
I could have done a Better job on the band but perfection doesn’t matter. Usability does. Oh Yeah this has the weirdest crown, that does not making those annoying ticking sounds. The crown is turned by a little knob on the left. It’s overtly sensitive.
I also chose this for the Seiko 5 factor. I initially wanted something with a metal band (as that brought me back to my old Pebble Steel band, that took a lot of abuse from me). I settled on the Seiko 5, but I could only get the one that came with the NATO Strap. So i settled on a used watch, and after a bit of investigation, this is a pretty awesome watch. I'm planning in the long term to replace the current band with some much higher quality paracord when it fails on me. Ever.

Come back and post how you like the automatic watch after a while, will you? I had an automatic a while back that gained as much as a minute a day, and it put me off automatics. I’m curious to hear others’ experiences.

Funnily enough, nearly all my watches are at least 3 minutes fast (Quartz, battery). And the matrix is in its own league. And My parents also have an grandfather clock, so I have a decent standard of how bad it is.

My Casio Chronograph has a dead battery and the F91 cheap watch has replaced it. The Nato strap I got for it really makes a difference in the watch look.

Hi there, nice watch..... Seiko 5 is a fine animal. So a little info for you, if you don’t mind. The ring with numbers surrounding the dial which I suspect you are calling a crown, is actually called the bezel. It’s graduated to let you passively keep track of elapsed time. The two knobs sticking out of the sides are called crowns. The one at about 5 o’clock is used to set the time and date, the one at nine operates that bezel. Just rotate it until the triangle shaped pointer lines up with the current minutes, and you can then look back at it to see how many minutes have passed. (This feature started on dive watches for tracking bottom time.) Enjoy that watch!!

Thanks for the pointers, but I’ve had watches with rotating bezels before, but this one is so sensitive, a simple shuffle of my jacket sleeve turns the knob. I’m probably going to use some watchuseek’s members advices of using dental flossing to prevent it from rotating it so freely.
And I've had watches before that have hands and crowns and such.

Right on. Sorry, didn’t mean to imply anything. Just thought it might be helpful. I’ve had a 5 and an “orange monster” in my collection for years. One of the best quality for price options in the industry.

It's cool, sorry I sounded a bit dickish. What's the orange monster?

It's a very popular low price diver from Seiko.

I really like my old Seiko 007. I killed the stock, lousy plastic wrist strap and replaced it with a blue stitched silicone strap from a watch store at the mall. Serves me well.

I’ve worn a 5 for two years now, mine is a SNK809;
It’s rock solid, it runs a bit fast but if you rest it crown down at night it slows back on time.. I never have to set it.
